Office appointment policies

High Quality Orthodontic Care

At Orthoville Westmount, our mission is to help all our patients achieve a beautiful, healthy smile while maintaining a gold standard in customer service. Dr. Dorfman, Dr Scalia and our highly trained team of orthodontic specialists work hard to make our patients feel at home every time they come into the office. We strive to craft specialized treatment plans that perfectly suit our patients’ unique orthodontic needs. Since we know your time is valuable, there are a few policies in place to keep everyone’s appointments running on schedule.

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – noon (for administrative purpose only, no patients scheduled)

Scheduling Appointments

In general, we schedule appointments at 4-8 week intervals. Please keep in mind that your appointment slot has been reserved specifically for you, so please arrive promptly and on time. In order to see as many patients as possible after school hours, we usually schedule appointments that are longer than 15 minutes between 8:30am and 3:00.

Arriving Late

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way. If you’re late for an appointment we’ll try to treat you that day, but this may not always be possible. Depending on our schedule, we may ask that you wait for a while or reschedule for another time.


If you need to reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice. We know that many patients wish to be seen after school hours and we’ll do our best to accommodate you if possible.


If you have missed your appointment, please reschedule as soon as possible. We understand emergencies come up, but missing your appointment could prolong your treatment and may result in a fee.

Emergency Appointments

If you have an orthodontic emergency, please advise us as soon as possible. Additional time is required to repair a loose bracket or broken wire and the allotted time for your original appointment may not be sufficient.
